Overview

The 2018 Dodge Journey proves that utility vehicles can be enjoyable to own in their own right while still providing plenty of capability, (especially with a new top-of-the-line GT trim that includes a standard V6 engine). Four other available trims include a wide array of interior and exterior features, including Chrysler’s available Uconnect® infotainment system with 8.4-inch touchscreen.

A handsome and practical family crossover, the 2018 Journey comes standard with a third row of seating to haul around the kids and all their friends. Though there are many available features, base models start at a very budget-friendly price of $22,495.*

The Perfect Ride for…

Families looking for utility in their vehicle without sacrificing style. If you opt for the V6 engine, you’ll notice that this crossover adds some power to its handsome take on practicality. Drivers looking for choices on a budget are sure to rejoice at the four available trim levels.

Drive & Handling

The 2018 Dodge Journey is available with two engine options: a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 173 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with front-wheel drive and has a four-speed automatic transmission. It gets an EPA-rated 21 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 25 mpg highway).**

Also available is a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 283 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes standard on the GT and is optional for all other models. On the GT, drivers can choose between all-wheel drive — rated at 19 mpg combined (16 city/24 highway) — and front-wheel drive, which is similarly rated at 19 mpg combined (17 city/25 highway).**

The V6 option is perfect for drivers looking for a little more oomph in their driving experience. The punchy acceleration of this engine is rarely found in family crossovers within this price range.

Key Features

Smart Storage

Parents will celebrate the ample storage space cleverly placed around the cabin, including cargo area in-floor storage, fold-flat second-row seats, an in-floor cooler, and available in-seat storage in the front passenger seat. Constantly driving kids around no longer means having a permanently messy vehicle. With second-row seats folded flat, there's 67.6 cubic feet of cargo space where you can stow just about anything.

Uconnect®

Optional in all models (and standard in the Journey Crossroad Plus and GT) is the Uconnect® 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment interface, which is widely considered to be one of the best infotainment systems around by outlets like Edmunds and Autotrader. Unlike touchscreens with convoluted menus that strain the eyes, the Uconnect® system is intuitive, easy to read, and looks great. For even more convenience, add the available Uconnect® Voice Command and integrated Garmin® Navigation with five years of SiriusXM® Travel Link and SiriusXM® Traffic.

Alternative Options

If a budget-friendly crossover SUV isn’t what you’re looking for, Dodge offers many other vehicles that are sure to fit your needs. For the gearheads, we recommend the 2018 Dodge Challenger: a classic muscle car redefined. If you need to haul the whole family in comfort and style, check out the 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan: a classy and modern people mover.
